Borders

Borders is an international bookstore and stationery retailer originally founded in 1971 in Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA. Established by brothers Tom and Louis Borders, it grew to become a prominent global bookstore chain. Borders expanded internationally in the 2000s, entering the UAE market in 2006 through a franchise partnership with Dubai’s Al Maya Group.
